Cricket club solar panels installed near Northwich with battery storage
In the summer of 2025, Gen Green completed a 7.2kWp solar PV installation for Davenham Cricket Club.
With a packed schedule of cricket matches and a vibrant social scene, the club has a consistently high demand for electricity—especially during the summer months, when chillers work harder to keep drinks cold. This makes solar PV an ideal solution to help manage their energy needs.
After the initial quote, we submitted a G99 grid application to determine the feasibility of the installation. Unfortunately, due to limitations in the ageing local electrical infrastructure, approval was granted only for a 3.68kW hybrid inverter. While a higher-capacity inverter would have been preferred, the cost of upgrading the network infrastructure proved prohibitive.
