SOLAR PV & BATTERY CASE STUDY

SolarEdge system installed at commercial property in Ellesmere Port

Edsential

Edsential - Ellesmere Port, Cheshire
Gen Green completed a 12kW Commercial Solar PV installation for Edsential in Ellesmere Port, Cheshire. They have a staff of around 30 at the head office site (although over 1000 employed nationally) and run the building entirely off electricity.
With Air Conditioning units providing heat during the winter and cooling during the summer, a solar PV system was ideally suited to offset some of the gird imported power.

Following a site meeting with CEO Ian McGrady we produced a couple of proposals with different inverter and battery manufacturer options and costings. Ian opted for the SolarEdge system which offers enhanced fire safety protection over standard systems, modules level monitoring and an advanced online monitoring platform.
Whilst the office building had a large roof, only the south facing side was considered for this installation as it provided enough space to match the number of panels installed the property’s electrical demand. It would be possible to expand the system to the north facing roof if energy consumption increased considerably.
