The property owner in Gwynedd was undertaking a major renovation on an existing house, including a new outbuilding. As part of the build she decided to install a 5kWp solar PV system with 5.8kW Solax Battery to reduce energy costs following the completion of the renovation.

The outbuilding had a metal sheet roof allowing a quick and simple roof installation, and the on-site electricians had provided suitable power and data cable to allow the solar to be fed back to the house and supply the appliances as required. Any power not used in the house would then go to charge the battery. Once the battery is full and if the house is not using all the solar power it is fed back to the grid (and the owner will be credited up to 15p/kWh for anything sent back the grid).
